Location:

  In Providence Metro Park on US 24, 25 miles southwest of Toledo, or 15 miles west of I-475 from the Maumee exit.  It is across the Maumee River from the town of Grand Rapids, OH.
   

Comments:

  An 1865 operational museum mill, operating with water turbines and steam.   It is a combination sawmill/gristmill.  A 3 story frame and post structure situated on an old canal lock.  Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, 6/28/74.  Open May through October, Wednesday through Sunday and holidays.  Free admission, although special bus tours are charged a minimal fee per person.  The Miami and Erie Canal, directly behind the mill, has been restored and there is a 70-passenger mule-powered authentic canal boat using 1 mile of the canal.
