Ice Harvest at Hanford Mills Museum

10 am - 4 pm. Festival features interactive ice harvesting on the mill pond, ice fishing demonstrations, children’s activities, horse-drawn sleigh rides, bonfires, and a hot soup buffet. Also, hand-knit hats and mittens for sale, and woodstove cooking demonstrations.

Ice harvests were community events for decades in this region, we recreate this tradition at Ice Harvest, and will use the ice July 4th to make ice cream.

Hanford Mills Museum is located at 51 County Hwy 12, at the intersection of Delaware County Routes 10 & 12 in East Meredith, NY. Children 12 and under are free. Adults are $8.50, seniors are $6.50. Museum members free.
