if you have not found your intern yet I would recommend any local colleges or universities that have a history or public history program. You might also recruit from engineering programs and tech schools teaching building trades and industrial mechanics. As a gear head I fell in love with milling machinery and learned to grind as a side benefit! I also enjoy the post and beam carpentry of the two mills I work in. Best of luck!
