Hello SPOOM Community,
We are Andrea and Christopher Jetter who live in Ohio and have found a passion in visiting mills. We enjoy the connection to the past and how the mill served as a focal point around food for the community.
We are writing to see if anyone is aware of resources to locate mills for sale. We are interested in starting a commercial enterprise centered around operating the mill but that also incorporates other elements such as a bakery, market, and farm. As far as our backgrounds, Andrea is originally from El Salvador and has spent her career in food science and supply chain management while Christopher is originally from Ohio and has worked in the area of finance and accounting.
We recently got married this year (on our honeymoon we visited a total of fifteen mills :)) and are excited to start the next phase of our lives building a business of our own that supports the local food economy. We are sure there is a mill out there waiting for us where we can preserve the connection to the past and share with the community. Any assistance in this journey would be greatly appreciated.
